Poison ivy

"Leaves of three, let it be".  I have seen Poison ivy (Toxicodendron radicans) in several states of the U.S. It varies somewhat in its appearance depending where its growing, but this photo is reasonably descript. There are several plants that look like poison ivy, but do not cause dermatitus. There are also other plants that cause dermatitus but do not look like poison ivy. DO NOT TOUCH THIS PLANT if you see one!  One touch can ruin your next week or longer. This is the most common species that can cause significant dermatitus. Keep on the lookout for this plant near dunes, inland waterways and anywhere there is heavy clay soils.
